🛡️ ProFindr does not sell your personal information. Ever. We don't run ads. Our only revenue is contractor subscriptions.
1. What We Collect
From homeowners (no account required):
- Name and contact info you provide when posting a job (phone, email, ZIP)
- General location (ZIP code or city) for matching with local contractors
- Job details you submit (service type, description, photos)
- Reviews you write (associated with your verified account if you have one)
From contractors:
- Business name, contact info, bio, service categories
- License and insurance documents (if uploaded)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see your card number)
- Profile activity (views, contacts received)
Automatically from all users:
- Browser type, device type, and general location (city/region)
- Pages visited and time spent (for improving the platform)
- IP address (for security and fraud prevention)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To connect homeowners with contractors — your job post info is shared with subscribed contractors in your area who match your service request
- To run your account — authentication, profile management, billing
- To improve the platform — understanding how people use ProFindr helps us make it better
- To send transactional emails — account verification, job responses, billing receipts. We don't send marketing emails without your consent.
- To prevent fraud and abuse — protecting homeowners and contractors on the platform
3. Who We Share Your Information With
- Contractors (when you post a job): Your name, contact info, ZIP, and job details are shared with subscribed contractors who match your request. This is the core function of the platform.
- Stripe: Handles all payment processing for contractor subscriptions. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase: Our database and authentication provider. Data is stored securely in their infrastructure.
- Google Maps: Used for map functionality. Location data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Nobody else. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
4. Homeowner Job Posts
When you post a job without an account, your contact information is visible to subscribed ProFindr contractors who service your area. By posting, you consent to contractors contacting you via the method you specified.
Job posts expire after 30 days or when you mark them as hired/closed. You can request deletion of your job post at any time by emailing support@profindr.com.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use minimal cookies to:
- Keep you logged in (authentication session)
- Remember your search preferences
- Understand basic usage patterns (no cross-site tracking)
We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.
6. Data Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses PostgreSQL with row-level security. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy
ProFindr is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to our platform, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
